Derby County reportedly want to raid Championship outfit Ipswich Town for Martyn Waghorn and want Jack Marriott from League One Peterborough United.

Derby County reached the play-off semi-finals last season by virtue of being functional rather than thrilling.
Gary Rowett’s side was heavy on experience, the likes of Tom Huddlestone, Curtis Davies, Scott Carson, David Nugent and Cameron Jerome boasting plenty of appearances in England’s top flight between them.
But the Derby side of 2017/18 was slightly short on inspiration with the likes of Andi Weimann and Johnny Russell renowned more for their energy than creativity.
Though the side being put together by Frank Lampard couldn’t be more different. The former Chelsea midfielder has added craft and guile to a solid backline, bringing in Premier League starlets Harry Wilson and Mason Mount on loan from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively. They could both take the Championship by storm.
Lampard has provided some much needed speed too with Florian Jozefzoon arriving from Brentford for £2.75 million.

And the Mirror (live blog, 2.01am) claims that the new Rams boss is eyeing two further signings who would add a real goal threat in attack. Derby are in talks to sign the £8 million-rated Martyn Waghorn, who scored 16 goals and set up 11 for Ipswich last season.
And the East Midland giants also want Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott, whose 33 goals in 2017/18 made him the Football League’s most prolific marksman.
If Derby can pull off these two deals, Lampard will have created one of the Championship’s most exciting attacking sides.
