Last season, Paris Saint German swept all in their path on a sauntering stroll towards the Ligue 1 crown. In fact, seven months of the season came and went before defeat was inflicted upon the oil-rich oligarchs of the French capital. Surely, then, under three time Europa League winner Unai Emery, the record-tumbling Parisians would remain ‘invincible’.

Then again, where David Luiz goes, drama follows: Monaco 3-1 PSG. And guess who started at centre-back?

Hauling down Monaco defender Jemerson with seconds to go late in the first-half, the former Chelsea star set PSG on their way to a first August defeat since 2011.

Just for the record, he remains the most expensive defender in the history of Football. Chelsea got £50 million for him – you could buy an all Ashley Williams back four for that. As social media was quick to point out, that David Luiz fellow is rather slapdash.
