You’d think Spurs fans would be too busy swinging from the ceiling, celebrating the next stage in their squad’s exciting development to notice, but the flurry of contract renewals at Spurs in recent weeks has got everyone’s attention for a rather different reason.
In each picture released by Spurs’ social media to commemorate the renewal, you can’t deny that Mauricio Pochettino looks a little, well, identical.
Almost as if, some have claimed, the club secured all these deals on the same day then staggered the announcements across a series of weeks to pacify supporters frustrated by their transfer market activity.
The same genial grin, the arm around the shoulder, the black tie and white shirt combo; Pochettino’s almost duplicate posing has sent Twitter into frenzy, the tin foil hat brigade putting Spurs at the centre of some sporting Zeitgeist spin-off.
Whether you’re in favour of this X-Files-esque conundrum, or simply think Pochettino is harmlessly wearing his favourite suit for such an important photo, the picture accompanying Kyle Walkers’ recent renewal has reawakened the debate.

Swapping the shirt and tie for the training top, Poch looks notably different, his hair flatter and his stubble shorter. Surely we can put an end to this most baffling of disputes now?
Or, maybe, that’s just what they want us to believe…
