The Eredivisie winger could be just what Tottenham Hotspur need.
Barely a week goes by without Tottenham Hotspur being linked with a jet-heeled Eredivisie starlet at the moment.
Countless Dutch-based wingers have been tipped to sign for the North London giants, including Ajax duo Justin Kluivert and David Neres and, according to ESPN, PSV flyer Steven Bergwijn.
But if Tottenham are looking to snap up a highly-rated wideman from Holland’s top flight, surely they need to join Everton in having a look at the league’s top scorer.
Hirving Lozano has been a revelation since joining runaway leaders PSV Eindhoven from Liga MX side Pachuca in the summer. No one in the Netherlands has scored more than the Mexican international’s 13 league goals, while a tally of seven assists is not to be sniffed at either.
Quick, incisive and a lethal finisher for someone playing out on the wing, Lozano is the main reason why PSV are five points clear at the top of the table and look certain to wrestle the title back from Feyenoord.
And, at just 22, Lozano’s potential is simply startling. Yes, Neres, Kluivert (below) and Bergwijn are players with real talent but PSV’s number 11 has been the best player in Holland this season, so it is somewhat baffling that Spurs continue to overlook him.
Everton have been heavily linked with the South American speedster in recent times, with Super Deporte claiming in December that the Toffees would be willing to pay up to £42 million.
But, having signed Theo Walcott from Arsenal in January, you wonder where Lozano would really fit in at Goodison Park.
Tottenham, however, seem to have a place in their squad for a young, exciting winger and Lozano ticks every box.
