Could West Ham United sign Victor Wanyama if Tottenham Hotspur seal a deal for Lyon star Ndombele?

You won’t find too many West Ham United fans wishing Tanguy Ndombele well at Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs are about to pull off the biggest signing in their history with the Lyon midfielder set to sign for a staggering £65 million – despite the fact that he’s spent much of the last few months being linked with Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester City and co.
Ndombele looks like the real deal, a midfielder of the Yaya Toure mould who possesses that rare blend of technique and physicality, a superb passer and elegant mover with a thunderbolt of a shot in his boots.
But how could Ndombele’s impending move to North London benefit Tottenham’s historic rivals West Ham? Well, according to the Sun (26 June, page 51), his arrival is likely to push Victor Wanyama out the door.
And that is where the Hammers come in.

Goal reported during the 2018/19 campaign that Manuel Pellegrini’s side were keen to raid their London neighbours for the Kenyan international.
Wanyama appears to need a fresh start after falling down the pecking order at Tottenham and the former Southampton and Celtic man is exactly the kind of burly bruiser West Ham need to reinforce a rather soft centre.
Tottenham’s £65 million deal could, ironically enough, help The Hammers sign the powerhouse midfielder they’ve needed for some time. So this would be the perfect time to renew their interest.
