Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj since as far back as 2011.

And, almost every transfer window since, the Croatian international midfielder has been linked with a move to North London. Calciomercato stated that Spurs still held an interest as recently as January, having failed to sign the 29-year-old in each of the last two summers.
Milan and Roma have been linked too but, so far, there has been no decision made on his future at Fiorentina.

But with his contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi due to expire in just three months, Tottenham will never have a better chance to lure Badelj to North London.
After all, Spurs were a rising team during the highest point of the Badelj links but are now established as a major European force, regulars in the Premier League top four and having reached the last 16 of the Champions League, beating Real Madrid and holding their own against Juventus.

Tottenham has never been such an attractive destination.
But manager Mauricio Pochettino will need to make a decision about whether he even needs Badejl anyway. Spurs have Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele and Harry Winks all fighting for a place in central midfield so it is difficult to see where, or if, Badelj fits in.
