Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur want a long-term successor for Mousa Dembele and have turned to Red Bull Salzburg’s Amadou Haidara.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a future Mousa Dembele replacement has lead them now to Austria.
It is understood that Tottenham sent scouts to watch the Malian in the second leg of their round of 16 tie with Borussia Dortmund, a 0-0 draw which secured a 2-1 aggregate win, and Mauricio Pochettino sees Haidara as a real star of the future.

And there is little doubt that the once-capped Mali international would cost far cheaper than his fellow 20-year-old Amadou Diawara.
Calcio 24 claimed in January that Spurs were planning a £33 million bid for Napoli ace Diawara and it is understood that they were planning to step up their interest at the end of this season. But £33 million for a player who has been trusted to start just three Serie A games all season would certainly raise eyebrows.

If Diawara is not ready for a first-team place at Napoli, it is difficult to justify Tottenham paying a huge fee to sign him as a successor for the still influential Dembele.
So, although his price-tag has not yet been disclosed, Haidara would surely represent better value for money.
