Spurs had watched Rafa Mir closely before Wolves pulled off an amazing deal; will the Championship leaders do the same with Inter Milan’s Andrea Pinamonti?

Wolves signed arguably the most exciting young striker in Spain when they snapped up Valencia’s Rafa Mir for £1.8 million last week from under the noses of none other than Real Madrid, as reported by The Mail.

But will the ambitious Championship leaders follow that up by pulling off an audacious deal for one of Italy’s most promising teenage talents? Possibly, with Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming that Wolves are in the chase to bring Andrea Pinamonti to Molineux from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Andrea Pinamonti of Italy reacts during the international friendly match between Italy U19 and Finland U19 on December 13, 2017 in Brescia, Italy.

Now, you have probably heard this name before, even if Pinamonti has made just four appearances for Inter’s senior side. The 18-year-old scoring sensation has been a gossip column regular in recent times with Calciomercato linking both Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus back in January 2017.

Chelsea have also been following the teenager, who scored seven goals in 15 games for Italy’s Under-17 side, in the past.

Now Tottenham are one of Europe’s most impressive clubs when it comes to providing a platform for young players, the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all evolving into world class talents in North London.

They also happen to be one of the Premier League’s most exciting sides right now and, as it stands, are into the knockout rounds of the Champions League. So it goes without saying that Wolves fans should be excited by reports suggesting that Molineux is now a more likely destination for Pinamonti.

Interestingly, Super Deporte claimed earlier in the year that Spurs had also held an interest in Valencia’s prolific wonder-kid Rafa Mir before he put pen to paper at Wolves, earning the number nine shirt to boot.

One week later, could Wolves sign another fresh-faced striking prodigy who Tottenham have been watching closely?
