Premier League and Bundesliga giants Spurs and Dortmund want Kristoffer Ajer – but the teenager looks set to stay at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Both Celtic and Kristoffer Ajer will have a tough decision to make this summer.

The 19-year-old centre-back has made the step up to the first team look rather easy this season, starting 17 Scottish Premiership games and becoming a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ Champions elect.

But according to TEAMtalk, Ajer’s impressive development has earned him plenty of admirers outside of Scotland with both Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur offering the teenage defender the chance to hone his talent in one of Europe’s most renowned finishing schools.

Countless youngsters have evolved into genuinely world class footballers at Dortmund and Tottenham, and that’s without mentioning the regular Champions League football they can put on the table.

But, fortunately for Celtic, The Sun claims that Ajer is close to an agreement to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2020. It is understood that the Hoops are confident that a renewal will be struck.

And though Dortmund and Tottenham would be tempting destinations for any ambitious young player, there is no reason for Ajer to leave Celtic just yet.

He will end this season with the maiden league title of his promising career and, under Brendan Rodgers, is guaranteed regular first-team chances both in domestic and European football.

Ajer may one day be plying his trade for a bonafide European giant – but there is no reason to rush.
