Tottenham Hotspur are the latest Premier League club to be linked with Sheffield United’s David Brooks.
The Sun reported in its printed edition on Friday that Tottenham scouts watched Brooks in action against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, and have placed him high on their wanted list.
Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle United are among those also said to be keen. But could a decision made by Spurs in August give them the upper hand in any pursuit of the Sheffield United talent?

Enfield product Cameron Carter-Vickers is also impressing in the Steel City, where he is due to spend the rest of this season on loan.
And it is plausible that Brooks’ curiosity will, at some stage, lead him towards a Tottenham-themed discussion with his more knowledgeable teammate, with positive feedback likely – should he even need it.
Though a recently signed four-year deal should keep Sheffield United’s most saleable asset at Bramall Lane until at least next summer, his eventual departure seems inevitable, especially if the Blades fail to go up.
And when that happens, Brooks many find a familiar face waiting at his next club, in Cameron Carter-Vickers.
