Boateng struggled in the Premier League with Spurs but is reportedly set to follow Paulinho to La Liga champions Barca.

According to Sky Sports, the fanciful and rather bizarre footballing career of Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to take another strange twist. It is understood that he is on the verge of joining none other than Barcelona on loan from Sassuolo with a view to a £7 million permanent deal.
Understandably, the move has raised eyebrows throughout world football – and particularly among Tottenham Hotspur fans.
After all, it is just a year-and-a-half since Barca signed the infamous Spurs flop Paulinho from the Chinese Super League. And a surprise swoop for Boateng will have some wondering when Benjamin Stambouli, Clinton N’Jie and co will be wearing the famous red and blue stripes.
Spurs paid £5.4 million to sign the then Germany U21 international Boateng from Hertha Berlin in 2007, according to the BBC, but he failed to make any sort of an impact at White Hart Lane and was restricted to just 14 Premier League appearances.
Though, to be fair to the 31-year-old, he has belatedly fulfilled his undoubted potential during impressive spells at Eintracht Frankfurt and Sassuolo and a stunning move to the Camp Nou is just rewards.
