Arsenal paid £18m for William Saliba but have Tottenham Hotspur found an even more talented defender without spending a penny?

Mauricio Pochettino is a firm believer that if you’re good enough then you’re most certainly old enough.
Luke Shaw, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Oliver Skipp have all played regular first-team football under the Argentine at Southampton and Tottenham respectively with Pochettino more than happy to throw young players in at the deep end if they are ready to swim in the unforgiving waters of the Premier League.
And if Jophet Tanganga’s pre-season performances are anything to go by, the London-born 20-year-old could be the latest fresh-faced academy graduate handed his Premier League debut by their much-admired head coach.

Tanganga, who is already represented by Jonathan Barnett’s Stellar agency, impressed against Manchester United, helped keep a clean sheet against Real Madrid and even scored the winning penalty in a shootout success against Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup final.
He looks like the real deal already. And you won’t find many Spurs fans now bemoaning their failure to nab William Saliba from under Arsenal’s nose.
Tottenham were interested in the St Etienne wonderkid before he made his £18 million move to their North London rivals, according to L’Equipe? But have Spurs found an equally talented centre-back without spending a penny?

Tanganga is twice the player Saliba will ever be
Which is why we never made a bid for Saliba. Tanganga looks a real talent
So glad we didn’t sign Saliba after seeing Tanganga play, guy looks like a future star #thfc
