Serie A giants Napoli will only sell one midfielder but Liverpool want Jorginho while Tottenham Hotspur hope to bring Amadou Diawara to the Premier League.

Napoli look desperate to bring Sampdoria’s diminutive dynamo Lucas Torreira (above) in the summer.
To fund a deal for the Uruguayan, however, it looks like the Serie A title chasers will have to sell one of their current midfielders, which is good news for either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the Mail late last month, Liverpool have made the Brazil-born Italy international Jorginho one of their primary transfer targets ahead of the summer. The former Hellas Verona play-maker is one of the best passers in world football, and could even prove to be an upgrade on Emre Can should the German international leave in the summer when his contract expires.

Tottenham, however, also have their eyes on a Napoli midfielder. The Sun claims that 20-year-old Amadou Diawara, who ironically has struggled for starts this season due to Jorginho’s presence in the starting XI, has been identified as a potential successor to the influential Mousa Dembele in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
Diawara, who joined from Bologna in 2016, is an excellent technician with remarkable positional sense and reading of the game for a player so young.

Napoli, however, are only likely to sell one of their deep-lying play-makers to make way for Torreira, as Jorginho’s agent admitted last month in quotes reported by the Mail.
So Tottenham and Liverpool may be forced to go head-to-head in a race against time to bring a Napoli midfielder to the Premier League.
If Liverpool nab Jorginho, expect Spurs to be disappointed, and vice versa.
