Tottenham bench-warmer Michel Vorm has perfect escape route with Feyenoord

Eredivisie champions Feyenoord would love to bring Michel Vorm back to Holland from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.

It would be harsh to judge Michel Vorm on his lack of action at Tottenham Hotspur over the last few seasons.

The agile, ball-playing Dutch goalkeeper would be first choice at a number of Premier League clubs but, then again, most Premier League clubs cannot call upon the magnificence of Hugo Lloris on a weekly basis.

Vorm has played just 40 games in all competitions for Spurs since signing from Swansea City in the summer of 2014 and has only ever really been given a chance in the top flight when Lloris was otherwise unavailable, so consistent has the Frenchman been over the last few years.

And with the 34-year-old out of contract in just a few months, he faces a difficult decision about his future; try to earn a new deal at White Hart Lane and remain a distant second choice in the autumn days of his career or player regular first-team football again back home in Holland.

According to the Sun, reigning Dutch champions Feyenoord are looking for a replacement for the former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones, who is eyeing a return to England at the end of this campaign.

Vorm, who previously starred in the Eredivisie for FC Utrecht, would be a superb addition even as he enters the veteran stage of his career.

And surely he would be better off bidding farewell to Spurs when his contract comes to an end. After all, Vorm does not have too many more years left in the professional game, so why spend them sitting on the bench?
