Everton missed their chance to bring Sander Berge to the Premier League but don’t rule out the Norwegian joining Spurs before the window shuts.

It has been a difficult couple of years for Norwegian football. While Scandinavian rivals Denmark, Sweden and even Iceland have established themselves as tournament regulars, enjoying some remarkable successes along the way, Norway remain far off challenging for a place in the World Cup or European championships.
What they do have, however, is one of the most talented young midfielders in Northern Europe. 20-year-old Sander Berge has already won nine caps for his country and continues to impress for the Jupiler League outfit Genk.
But Dagbladet believe that a move to the Premier League is on the cards before Thursday with Berge’s agent understood to be in England. Tottenham Hotspur, who have been linked previously, are reported to retain a real interest in the talented central midfielder.
This comes just a day after Estadio Deportivo claimed that Sevilla had made a bid of £13 million for the youngster. Interestingly, Aften Posten has reported that Everton turned down the chance to sign Berge in 2017 for just £1.8 million.

So Everton’s loss could prove to be Spurs’ gain should Berge move to north London and establish himself under Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham have famously failed to make a signing all summer but are stepping up their attempts now with the likes of Jack Grealish heavily tipped to sign.
