League One Sunderland are understood to have made a bid to sign Cheltenham Town striker Mo Eisa.

Sunderland have made Mo Eisa one of their top striker targets this summer and some fans could not be happier.

Eisa was an absolute revelation in League Two with Cheltenham Town last season, scoring 25 goals in his first ever campaign at a professional level. He even won the Player’s Player of the Year award.

But that could be his one and only season at Cheltenham, because Sky Sports is claiming that Sunderland have made a £1 million bid, though this falls short of the £1.5 million fee demanded by The Robins.

Now, if there is one thing Sunderland need this summer, it is a prolific goalscorer. They have missed out on Gavin Reilly, Florian Kamberi and Lyle Taylor so far this summer so Eisa appears to be quite far down the pecking order, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a quality addition.

The jury is out on the Sudanese striker, who has never played above League Two, but the former Dartford, Leatherhead and Greenwich Borough talisman has that all too rare ability to score goals from anywhere and any angle.

This makes him pretty much exactly what the Black Cats are looking for.
