Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers sold Barry Douglas before bringing Jonny Castro Otto to Molineux.

Barry Douglas was one of Wolves’ stand-out players as they cantered to the Championship title last season.
A constant threat from left-back, the Scotland international quickly became a fans’ favourite for his superb set-piece delivery and wand of a left foot. No player in the division produced more than his 14 assists, level with Aston Villa loanee Robert Snodgrass.
So the decision to sell Douglas to Leeds United and replace him with Jonny Otto was certainly a contentious one. But after just four Premier League games, it seems that Wolves might have struck gold again.

For all of Douglas’s qualities going forward, there were always concerns about his defensive abilities, even in the Championship. Stepping up to the top flight, against top quality opposition, could have exposed his limitations.
In that sense, Jonny, who has arrived on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid, is already a massive upgrade.
The former Celta Vigo man may not get into double figures for assists but he is a very solid defender who looks far from out of place in England’s top flight so far. The 24-year-old impressed in the draw against Manchester City and helped keep a clean sheet against West Ham United, too.
Leeds fans thought they had pulled off quite the coup landing Douglas. But, once again, Wolves seem to have got things absolutely spot on.
