Dusan Tadic was sold after four years at Southampton, moving back to the Eredivisie with Ajax.

Considering Southampton struggled to score or even create chances last season, their decision to sell Dusan Tadic this summer certainly raised eyebrows.
The Serbian international did not have his best season at St Mary’s but was still influential as Mark Hughes’ side narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League, particularly when scoring both goals in a crucial 2-1 derby win against Bournemouth in April.
Nonetheless, this did not stop the Saints from accepting a £10 million bid from Ajax back in June. And, with goals still a premium on the South Coast (six in five Premier League games so far) a number of Southampton fans are wondering whether they made a mistake selling the man who knitted everything together in attack.

Tadic, after all, has been superb so far for Ajax.
The former FC Twente play-maker has scored in each of his last four Eredivisie games for the Amsterdam giants, forging a wonderful understanding with Moroccan talisman Hakim Ziyech and impressing as Ajax opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win against AEK Athens on Wednesday.
Could Southampton’s decision to cash in cost them dear?
