Unai Emery will depart Paris Saint-Germain with two Ligue 1 titles and Everton fans want him at Goodison Park to replace Sam Allardyce.

Sam Allardyce, Manager of Everton looks on during the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Everton at The Hawthorns on December 26, 2017 in West Bromwich, England.

Sam Allardyce will have sent shivers down the spine of Everton fans on Friday when he told the Telegraph that he would, in fact, be staying at Goodison Park next season.

The 63-year-old has proved to be hugely unpopular with large sections of the Everton fan base because, while the results have been decent, the football has not. Allardyce’s pragmatic tactics were roundly slammed once again on Monday, despite Everton beating Newcastle United 1-0.

So when Unai Emery announced that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer, you did not really expect the Everton fans to react any other way.

The Goodison faithful have taken to Twitter to demand that owner Farhad Moshiri bring the crouching, tactically obsessed Spaniard to Merseyside.

Although Emery is seen to have largely underwhelmed during two years in Paris, it is harsh to lambaste any manager for a failure to win a first Champions League title in a club’s history.

The 46-year-old is a hugely successful manager who will leave the Parc des Princes potentially with successive domestic quadruples. And that is without mentioning his three successive Europa Leagues at Sevilla between 2013 and 2016.

The 2014 European Coach of the Season is on another level to Allardyce. And don’t the Everton fans know it.
