Alfredo Morelos will return from suspension for Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Paul Heckingbottom’s Hibs at Ibrox.

Hibernian hero Mickey Weir has backed his former club to keep Alfredo Morelos on a short leash when Paul Heckingbottom’s side face Rangers on Sunday, while speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News.
Both sides have little to play for with just a few games remaining in the Scottish Premiership season, Rangers sitting nine points adrift of Celtic but 11 clear of Kilmarnock in third while Hibs’ hopes of qualifying for Europe appear to be long gone.
But the Edinburgh outfit will still be going all out for an eye-catching result at Ibrox, although they will need to keep Morelos quiet if Paul Heckingbottom is to extend his unbeaten run to 11 games.
The Colombian international has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season and will return to action after serving yet another suspension for the red card he picked up against Celtic – his fifth of the season.
And Weir, who played over 150 games for Hibernian between 1987 and 1996, admits that Heckingbottom’s side have a tough task on their hands.

“They’ve played against Morelos before. He’s certainly got the ability so he’ll be a danger if he plays but he’s also caused himself a lot of problems with his antics on the pitch,” Weir said.
“The likes of (Paul) Hanlon and (Darren) McGregor will know all about his temperament and that’s something they can play on. Mark him closely and see if he can handle it because he’s shown before that he doesn’t like it.”
Whether Morelos fires home a 30th goal of the season or finds himself at the centre of yet another disciplinary storm, one of the most controversial characters in Scottish football is likely to play a major role on Sunday.
