Championship leaders Leeds United will have been impressed after scouting Kasimpasa’s Super Lig striker Mbaye Diagne.

Leeds United are still top of the Championship regardless of their shock 2-1 home defeat against Birmingham City at Elland Road on Saturday. But, if Marcelo Bielsa’s side want to stay in first place between now and May, they might need to strengthen a rather slim squad in January.
According to Turkish Football, Leeds are continuing to keep an eye on the prolific Senegal striker Mbaye Diagne after holding talks over the summer.
The £3.6 million-rated Kasimpasa striker is understood to be keen on a move to England and has even applied for an EU passport to get around potential work permit issues.
With Leeds sending scouts to watch Kasimpasa’s Turkish Super Lig clash at home to Alanyaspor on Sunday, the West Yorkshire giants will surely have been impressed with Diagne’s latest goal-scoring performance.

Diagne scored for the eighth time in just six league appearances for Kasimpasa at the weekend, although he was overshadowed by the former Newcastle number nine Papiss Cisse, who netted twice for Alanyaspor to seal an impressive away win.
Injuries to both Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford have pushed untried youngsters Tyler Roberts and Ryan Edmondson into Bielsa’s first-team plans recently. So Diagne could be an excellent addition to a Leeds team facing a gruelling fixture schedule over the coming months.
