Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly scouting one of the Premier League’s rising stars, Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

It was only a matter of time before Sean Longstaff caught the eye of the Premier League’s biggest and best.
The homegrown midfielder has enjoyed a remarkable rise since the turn of the year, forcing his way into the Newcastle United first-team at last before establishing himself as a key part of Rafa Benitez’s team before an ill-timed injury curtailed his progress.
Longstaff is one of those rare talents who emerges only so often. In nine Premier League games, the Englishman has shown maturity, class and composure beyond his 21 years while earning comparisons with one of the greatest ever Geordie footballers: Michael Carrick.

So it should be no surprise that Longstaff has caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the Guardian, Longstaff is one of many young, British talents on Spurs’ radar alongside Jack Grealish, Jarrod Bowen and Harvey Barnes. Will the ‘new Carrick’ follow in the footsteps of the original by ending up in North London via Newcastle?
Well, the Tyneside faithful hope not. They haven’t been able to cheer on one of their own for many a year so they are understandably desperate to hang on to Longstaff.
