Premier League giants Spurs have been watching Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves while Victor Wanyama has been tipped to leave.

It’s another season of promise without silverware for Tottenham Hotspur. Knocked out in the FA Cup semi-finals by Manchester United and the Champions League by Juventus on the tightest of margins, the wait for a first trophy under Mauricio Pochettino goes on.

And it seems the Argentine is prepared to shake up his squad this summer as Spurs aim to bring an end to their decade long trophy drought.

Mousa Dembele is expected to leave this summer for a new challenge despite still being one of the very best performers in Tottenham’s squad. The club’s hands are tied with just a year on the Belgian’s contract and The Mail claims that Spurs will be open to offers.

Rather more surprising, however, are the reports that Victor Wanyama could follow him out the exit door – so long as Spurs receive a mind-blowing offer of £50 million.

The Kenyan powerhouse has struggled for starts since missing the first few months of the campaign with injury but it would be a major risk if Spurs let two of their commanding central midfielders leave.

In fact, this would only make sense if they had a genuine chance of signing Ruben Neves from Wolves. The 21-year-old Portuguese is younger than Dembele and Wanyama and arguably has the potential to be better than both.

The Mirror says that Spurs are watching Neves but Wolves’ £15.8 million record signing has given no indication that he wants to leave Molineux ahead of their return to the Premier League.

So unless Neves, or another talented midfielder is within their grasp, Tottenham shouldn’t be so quick to look for buyers for Wanyama.
