Leeds United have won just two of their last seven games and Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now third in the Championship table.

Leeds United have reached 12 games in this Championship season. And, although the form has dropped off a little of late, supporters should be very pleased that they are within touching distance at the top of the table.
After all, Leeds have been forced to contend without two of their most influential attacking players over the last month: creative linchpin Pablo Hernandez and star striker Kemar Roofe. And the duo are expected to return, along with versatile defender Gaetano Berardi, after the international break.
Nonetheless, Dean Ashton believes that Leeds have a difficult month ahead. Luke Ayling was sent off against Brentford on Saturday and has copped a one-match ban, while Pontus Jansson could also be in trouble after his X-rated rant about referee Jeremy Simpson after the 1-1 draw with Brentford.
“It’s going to be a tough month for Leeds until they can get those players back. But if they come through that they’ll have some fresh players,” Ashton said on EFL on Quest.
“It is (taking it’s toll) and Bielsa works them hard as well. It’s interesting that he’s brought some very young players into the squad.”

Fortunately for Leeds, the likes of Jack Harrison and Tyler Roberts (below) have stepped up in the absence of Hernandez and Roofe, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side just two points adrift of current leaders West Brom.
But Leeds have won just two of their last seven Championship games and it is only so long that draws against the likes of Middlesbrough, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday can be portrayed as positive results.
