Nedum Onuoha wants to leave Queens Park Rangers and move back up north, but would a move to Championship rivals Leeds United appeal?

The centre of defence was arguably Leeds United’s strongest suit last season.
Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson were almost impenetrable at times, their solid centre-back partnership very nearly leading the Whites into the Championship play-offs.
Since Bartley returned to Swansea City at the end of his loan spell, however, Jansson has looked a shadow of his former self, while Liam Cooper and Everton loanee Matthew Pennington have received no shortage of criticism for some error-strewn performances.

If only there was an experienced, proven and commanding centre-half available for free this summer who could go a long way to solving Leeds’ problem. Actually, maybe there is.
The QPR captain allegedly has his heart set on a return to the north, having spent his professional career with Manchester City and Sunderland before he moved to the capital back in 2012.

QPR, like Leeds, look set for a place in mid-table after another underwhelming campaign and Onuoha could prove to be a big loss. He is a real presence on and off the pitch at Loftus Road and has been one of their most impressive performers in 2017/18.
NOnuoha is not the answer to all of Leeds’ problems but he would offer leadership in a shaky defence and plenty of Championship experience in a side full off imported talents.
If he wants to move back up north, Leeds should offer him a good home.
