Wolverhampton Wanderers’ striking options suddenly look a little bare, so could Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban suddenly be of interest again?

The fact that Wolves only had one senior centre-forward did not appear to matter when Leo Bonatini was scoring every week.
There was always a risk, however, that the goals would dry up for the Al Hilal loanee. And how they have.
Bonatini has now failed to score in each of his last 10 games in all competitions, with Wolves looking a little less invincible at the top of the Championship table. There is still a long way to go in the season and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are not a Premier League side just yet, so it makes sense to freshen up a squad that seems to have lost its way a little in recent weeks.
According to the Chronicle, Wolves played a major part in Lewis Grabban’s desire to cut short his loan spell at Sunderland this month and return to Bournemouth. It is understood that Wolves had expressed an interest and Grabban was keen to move to Molineux.

Since then, however, speculation has gone a little cold and it seems Wolves have turned their attention towards alternative targets, notably Derby County’s Chris Martin.
But with promotion chasing Cardiff City planning to launch a £4 million bid for Grabban before the end of the month, it will be interesting to see whether Bonatini’s dramatic drop off encourages a rival bid from Molineux.

The Sun (page 5 of their Goals pullout) claims the Bluebirds are planning to bid big for the prolific forward as they aim to strengthen ahead of an important few months.
Grabban netted 11 goals in a struggling Sunderland side this season and helped fire Norwich City to promotion back in 2015. he’s clearly proven at this level and could offer the firepower required to get Wolves across the line.
