Could Champions League-bound Atalanta flyer Timothy Castagne be on his way to the Premier League with Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace?

The father of Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne has hinted that the Belgian international could be interested in a move to Crystal Palace this summer, while speaking to Het Nieuwsblad.
The 23-year-old flyer has been heavily linked with a move to Britain in recent months and admitted to the Scottish Sun that Celtic had failed with an £8 million bid to sign him during the January transfer window.
Atalanta want around £17 million for Castagne, Nieuwsblad claims, but that is unlikely to put off more well-endowed clubs who are hoping to sign a full-back famed for his speed and swashbuckling style.
Castagne scored five goals and produced five assists as a free-wheeling Atalanta side qualified for the Champions League at the expense of AC Milan, Roma and Lazio last season.
And the former Genk man’s father has now admitted that a move to England, particularly Crystal Palace, could appeal this summer.
“Tim has a lot of offers. Crystal Palace? He has always loved English football,” Pierre Castagne said.

“Atalanta will play in the Champions League next season, but in the Premier League you have a match every week as if it were the Champions League.”
Castagne might have been lined up to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Croydon-born academy graduate who continues to be linked with a big-money move to Manchester United.
The Guardian claimed this week that United have made a £40 million bid and are now weighing up a second offer for the 21-year-old.
