Isco hasn’t started a La Liga game for Real Madrid since October but just imagine the impact he could have in the Premier League for Spurs.
Former Tottenham Hotspur player Terry Gibson has admitted that he would love to see Isco move to North London as his Real Madrid future remains uncertain, as stated on talkSPORT (6 February, 3.30pm).
Isco has blossomed into one of the world’s most effective attacking midfielders during his time at the Bernabeu, winning three Champions League titles with Los Blancos while thrilling fans and neutrals alike with his quick feet and ability to produce something out of nothing.
But, in a surprise to some observers, the 26-year-old has found himself out of favour since Santiago Solari was named Madrid’s caretaker coach in November. Isco has not started a La Liga game since that 5-1 thrashing at Barcelona in October, a result that cost Julen Lopetegui his job.
And, speaking to Hawksbee and Jacobs on talkSPORT, former Spurs forward and fan Gibson has made it clear that Isco would find a loving home in North London.
“Isco I think he’s waiting to see if he lasts longer than the manager. I think that’s the only issue there,” Gibson said.
“We’d take him at Spurs.”
The prospect of Isco wearing the white of Tottenham might look fanciful given that Daniel Levy hasn’t signed a single new player in the last two transfer windows.
But it must be mentioned that Spurs came ‘within a whisker’ of signing the former Malaga ace in the summer of 2016, according to The Mirror.
