Swansea City reportedly wanted to sign Emi Buenda before he joined Championship leaders Norwich City in the summer of 2018.

With Emi Buendia starring at the heart of Norwich City’s midfield, jinking through defences and producing assists aplenty, Swansea City must be kicking themselves.
As reported by the Sun (24 February, page 64), Swansea were keen to bring Buendia to South Wales from Getafe but neglected to follow up their interest, allowing Championship rivals Norwich to swoop.
The little Argentine sealed his move to Carrow Road in August.
And, while he has not quite dominated the headlines like Teemu Pukki and Mario Vrancic, there is no doubting the impact Buendia has made to their title-chasing campaign.

He has managed four goals and seven assists in the Championship. And, to make matters worse, he produced arguably his best performance in Norwich colours during the 4-1 thrashing of Swansea three months ago, scoring twice in an outstanding individual display.
Considering that Graham Potter’s side have scored just 43 goals all season, the third fewest in the top half of the table, Buendia now seems like a real missed opportunity.
With the play-offs now a pipe dream, they really could have done with his ability to creative something out of nothing from the centre of midfield.
