Wilfried Bony saw a first-half effort controversially disallowed as Swansea City were held by Bournemouth at the Liberty Stadium.

In the eyes of every Swansea City supporter up and down the British Isles, Wilfried Bony scored his first goal for the club since January 2015 in Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth.
It’s fair to say referee Stuart Atwell, however, did not agree. Controversially ruling out Bony’s first-half strike, Atwell did a great job of deflecting the Swansea fans anger away from under-fire manager Paul Clement and the club’s flat-footed board.
On the plus side, however, Bony looked somewhere back to his best in Saturday’s oh-so frustrating 0-0 draw with Eddie Howe’s Cherries at the Liberty Stadium.

After an ill-fated move to Manchester City and a forgettable loan spell at Stoke City, the Ivorian frontman returned to South Wales this summer for £12 million, per The Independent. But, until this weekend, he looked a shadow of the prolific marksman who tallied 26 goals in 54 Premier League games in his previous spell at the club.
Though Bony offered a timely reminder of his touch, his hold-up play and, if it wasn’t for Mr Atwell, his finishing ability on Saturday afternoon.
The stalemate leaves Swansea second from bottom in the table with just nine points and a league-low seven goals to their name from 12 fixtures. The performance of Bony, however, at least offers fans some reason for optimism for Swansea fans.
