It cannot be easy changing clubs season after season as Jason Denayer begins yet another temporary spell away from Manchester City.
On loan Sunderland defender Jason Denayer admits to the club’s official website that it has been difficult to settle down after a series of temporary stints but has praised the Black Cats in easing the transition.
The Belgian international arrived at the Stadium of Light from Manchester City in the summer having failed to break into the first-team at the Etihad despite building up domestic and European experience on loan with Celtic and Galatasaray in the last two seasons.
An injury sustained on international duty kept Denayer on the sidelines for a month before making his comeback in bottom-of-the-table Sunderland’s belated first win of the campaign against Bournemouth last time out, and the 21-year-old insists he is happy to be spending yet another season away from his parent club on Wearside.
“It’s not easy to move on loan to different teams but everybody has been really good, the staff, the players and all the supporters,” Denayer told the club’s official website.
“I have nothing to complain about and I just want to work hard, be in the team every week and I’m very happy and enjoying my time here at Sunderland.”
Sunderland have made good use of the loan market in recent years, impressive performances by the likes of Danny Rose, Danny Welbeck and Yann M’Vila (belwow) all playing their part in separate relegation battles.
And it looks like it is Denayar’s turn to step up to the plate in order to maintain Sunderland’s precarious Premier League status, with their chances of retaining him on a permanent deal more than likely resting on their top flight position.
