Ethan Robson has not made a League One appearance for Sunderland this season to the disappointment of manager Jack Ross.

Ethan Robson just cannot catch a break right now.
Sunderland’s 21-year-old academy graduate gave the Black Cats’ fans something to cheer last season as they suffered successive relegations, with a number of impressive performances in the first-team.
In fact, according to the Sun, Old Firm giants Celtic and Rangers were both keen to sign Robson before he signed a new contract with Sunderland in March.
Since then, the youngster’s career has been on hold. Robson has not made a single appearance in League One this season and suffered a further blow in the Checkatrade Trophy clash against Carlisle United on Tuesday.

Robson produced an impressive display in midfield and scored a lovely goal before being forced off at the interval.
Sending messages to the clearly concerned Houghton-le-Spring local on Twitter, Sunderland fans have been quick to praise his display while expressing hope that he returns as soon as possible.
Fortunately, Sunderland manager Jack Ross has told the Echo that Robson’s injury should be a minor one, while confirming that the midfielder would have been a key part of his plans if fit.
