Aiden McGeady started in Sunderland’s 2-2 draw with Peterborough United.

How to judge Aiden McGeady’s display in Sunderland’s 2-2 draw against Peterborough United on Tuesday night?
Making his first league start of the season, the Northern Ireland international showed moments of real class and reminded supporters of his ability to produce something out of nothing in a hugely promising display.
But there’s a lot of work to do just yet. McGeady was wasteful in the final third, his end product not quite matching up to the ideas. A number of shots were wildly off target and, as a result, a home draw could feel like a missed opportunity.

There is certainly better to come from the former Celtic and Everton winger, however, and that should give hope to a Sunderland fan-base who has seen their side win just one of their last five games in League One.
The 32-year-old is certainly one of the most naturally gifted footballers in the third tier of English football and could tear League One full-backs apart if he gets into his rhythm.
For now, it’s clear that some Sunderland fans want to see McGeady become a little more reliable.
