Norwich City want to get Steven Naismith off the wage bill and could loan him out in January, but a return to Ibrox with Rangers is his preferred option.
Steven Naismith will never be universally popular at Ibrox due to the acrimonious nature of his departure from the club in 2012.
The Scottish schemer jumped ship when Rangers were demoted to the fourth tier, joining Everton on a free transfer. But he is so determined to make amends that he is even willing to forego a salary in order to earn a second chance at Ibrox, the Scottish Sun reports.
But if Rangers do not take up the chance to re-sign Naismith from Championship club Norwich City, the 31-year-old should not struggle to find an alternative destination.
Because according to the BBC, Norwich want to loan out the seldom-seen attacker for the rest of the season and two English clubs have agreed to pay his £10,000-a-week salary.
It is not clear at the moment who the interested parties are, though it is likely that Naismith will be offered the chance to get his career back on track in the second tier of English football.
A clever and creative attacking midfielder, Norwich paid Everton £8 million to sign him from Everton in January 2016 after he fell out of favour with Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.
But with Naismith making clear that a return to Rangers would be his preferred option this month, it will be interesting to find out how he reacts to offers from two English clubs.
