Rangers dropped points away at Hibernian at Easter Road as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic returned to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Rangers might have thought their luck was in when Hibernian goalkeeper Ofir Marciano was subbed off with just 14 minutes on the clock at Easter Road on Wednesday night.
But they probably didn’t expect that second-choice shot-stopper Adam Bogdan would come on and produce one of the greatest individual performances of his professional career.
Rangers were left frustrated in midweek, losing top spot after a goalless draw at Hibs that owed much to the inspired performance of Bogdan between the sticks. The former Liverpool benchwamer made a series of outstanding saves, particularly to deny Alfredo Morelos, to leave Steven Gerrard wondering how his side failed to win.
In quotes reported by the Liverpool Echo, Gerrard even admitted that Hibernian counterpart Neil Lennon was complementary about Rangers’ display – not that this will quell the disappointment of a galling draw.

“You can’t be too critical of players, we’re creating chances, we’re getting really good opportunities to score,” said the former Liverpool captain.
“Neil Lennon said to me coming off that we were outstanding. As a manager I can’t ask more of my players.”
Rangers’ draw allowed Celtic to jump back into first place after Brendan Rodgers’ side thrashed Motherwell 3-0 at Parkhead.
But it must be remembered that Hibs beat the reigning Scottish Premiership champions 2-0 as recently as Saturday so a dominant display from Rangers at Easter Road must be seen in a positive light even if the result did not reflect the nature of their performance.
