Scott Arfield scored a hat-trick as Steven Gerrard’s Rangers beat Motherwell 3-0 in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash at Fir Park.

Stephen Robinson believes it was Motherwell’s mistakes rather than Rangers’ good work which was the deciding factor in their 3-0 home defeat on Sunday, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
Scott Arfield scored the first hat-trick of his professional career as Steven Gerrard’s side made light work Motherwell at Fir Park, the former Burnley midfielder taking his tally for the season to a very impressive 11.
The hosts certainly made life easier than they should have done for Arfield and co, however, gifting Rangers their first two goals of the afternoon with some particularly slack play in their own half.
And, speaking after the game, Robinson has lamented the fact that Rangers barely had to break sweat for one of their most eye-catching results of the Scottish Premiership season.
“I’m obviously disappointed with the result because we cost ourselves the game. I don’t think there was any great Rangers play which won the game, it came from three individual errors,” Robinson said.

“We don’t deal with the ball in our own box when we should clear it and that leads to the first goal. We’re playing differently, we’re playing out from the back and it’s risk versus reward. Our decision-making was poor for the next two goals.”
Fortunately for Motherwell, they are well clear of the relegation zone with just a few games left to play while Rangers have little to play for themselves. Gerrard’s team are eleven points adrift of Old Firm rivals Celtic at the top and eight points clear of Aberdeen in third.
