Timothy Weah scored one and assisted another off the bench as Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic narrowly beat St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright admits his side could not deal with Celtic super sub Timothy Weah as the PSG loanee made a huge difference off the bench on Sunday.
At the age of just 18, Weah is already establishing himself as a key player since his arrival from the Parc des Princes in the January transfer window.
The score was goalless as he came off the bench to replace Odsonne Edouard with just 15 minutes to go at McDiarmid Park. But he made an immediate impact, setting up James Forrest’s opener before clinching a fourth league win in a row himself in stoppage time.
And, speaking to the Daily Record after the game, Wright has paid tribute to Celtic’s quality in reserve and identified Weah as the match-winner.
“It wouldn’t have altered how Celtic play with the waves of attack but I thought when Edouard was on we were ok with things through the middle,” said the St Johnstone coach.

“Weah gave them a different dimension and that shows the quality they can bring on.”
Weah is one of the most highly rated teenagers in European football and has already established himself in the USA national team. And that potential has been clear for all to see since he pulled on the famous green and white Hoops.
Celtic’s pursuit of an eighth straight title is back on track with the youngster breathing fresh life into their challenge.
