Mo Salah is without a goal in eight games as Liverpool prepare for a Premier League trip to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton at St Mary’s.

Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand has admitted that he will look to ‘exploit’ Liverpool’s out-of-form talisman Mo Salah in Friday’s crunch clash at St Mary’s, speaking to Sky Sports.

Liverpool will make the long trip to the South Coast knowing they need a win as they aim to lift the Premier League trophy for the first time with just six games left in the 2018/19 season.

Southampton will be hoping to spoil their party however, with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side not yet safe from relegation at the other end of the table. The Saints are just five points above the relegation zone, although they did beat local rivals Brighton 1-0 on Saturday.

Fortunately for Southampton, they will be coming up against Salah in the midst of his worst run as a Liverpool player.

He has failed to score in his last eight games, although it was his header that forced Toby Alderweireld’s dramatic own goal in their late win against Tottenham last time out.

And Bertrand, who is likely to be in direct competition with the Reds’ right winger, seems to be full of confidence.

“I won’t change my preparations. I’m just looking forward to seeing (Salah’s) strengths and seeing his weaknesses and trying to nullify some and exploiting the others,” said the former Chelsea defender.

With a first league title in 29 years on the line, Liverpool could really do with Salah finding some form though Jurgen Klopp has at least got Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino fit and firing.
