Birmingham City wonder-kid Romello Mitchell is reportedly heading to the Premier League but with Southampton rather than Liverpool.

Southampton have won the race to sign the coveted Birmingham City youngster Romello Mitchell, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
The teenager has been on trial with the Premier League outfit and it is claimed that he has now set to sign in what will be a major disappointment to everyone at St Andrews.
Mitchell is understood to be one of the most exciting young talents to emerge out of the Midlands in many a year but it seems that he will now look to continue his rapid progress on the South Coast instead. The Mail adds that Southampton will pay a compensation fee of around £300,000.
The Daily Mail reported back in January that Liverpool wanted to sign Mitchell having sent scouts to watch a player who scored twice against the Reds’ youth team in a thrilling 8-4 win back in December.

But the Reds appear to have missed out and Southampton can take plenty of joy out of beating a team who have frequently nabbed the Saints’ star performers in recent seasons.
Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana could all feature against their former side as Liverpool face Southampton at St Mary’s on Friday night.
