Steven Davis could reportedly return to Rangers in January from Premier League strugglers Southampton.

Steven Davis has been a loyal servant to Southampton. But, after six years on the South Coast, it seems the fans have accepted that his time at St Mary’s is coming to an end.
The 33-year-old midfielder has found game time hard to come by in the opening weeks of the campaign, playing just six minutes of Premier League football, with manager Mark Hughes preferring the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Mario Lemina and Oriol Romeu in the centre of the park.
And reports on the back page of the Scottish Express (16 October), claim that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is lining up a move to bring the club’s former captain back to Ibrox in the January transfer window.

Allan McGregor and Kyle Lafferty, who were members of the last Rangers side to win the Scottish Premiership title in 2012, returned to the blue half of Glasgow in the summer and you could hardly blame Davis for wanting to join them.
While the midfielder will largely be welcome back with open arms at Ibrox, it seems he would also leave Southampton with the blessing of his appreciative fans.
