Blackburn Rovers are understood to be interested in signing Kemar Roofe from Championship rivals Leeds United in the summer transfer window

Kemar Roofe doesn’t deserve the criticism he gets from some sections of the Leeds United support so it’s nice to see that a good amount of the Elland Road faithful are putting their trust in the versatile forward ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Versatile, quick and blessed with an eye for goal, Roofe appears a good fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s famed 3-3-3-1 formation on paper. And many fans are expecting the legendary tactician to get the best out of a player who has never really stamped down a place in the XI since his £3 million move from Oxford United in 2016.

Roofe was Leeds’ top scorer last season with 14 goals despite rarely being used in his favoured centre-forward position and it is understood that he is in Bielsa’s plans. The chances of Blackburn Rovers luring the 25-year-old to Ewood Park, then, look slim.
Make no mistake though, this is a big season for Roofe. If Bielsa really plans to make him a key player, Roofe must respond in style or face an uncertain future under a famously ruthless coach.
