Championship side Aston Villa reportedly want to sign former Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako.

There is little doubt that Bakary Sako would be a good addition for any team in the Championship.
After all, the last time he played second tier football with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the winger scored 15 goals and set up another seven. But do Aston Villa, of all teams, really need him? Probably not.
According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are among a number of Championship clubs keen to sign the 30-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace last summer.
But Villa signed two wingers before the transfer window shut in Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El-Ghazi. Jack Grealish, meanwhile, is more than capable of playing in Sako’s left-wing position as is youngster Andre Green, who is currently out on loan at Portsmouth.
Sako, on the face of it, seems like a hit-and-hope panic signing for a club who appear to have no real direction in the transfer market.

Villa manager Steve Bruce wanted a centre-half and a left-back heading towards deadline day but failed to sign any of them, leaving his squad looking very disjointed with players forced into unfamiliar and ill-fitting positions.
Signing Sako now would only be another example of a lack of long-term planning.
