Wes Hoolahan will leave Norwich City this summer – but could he be offered a Championship lifeline by Nottingham Forest?

After 10 years at Norwich City, Wes Hoolahan has confirmed that he will be bidding farewell to Carrow Road this summer.
The 35-year-old is out of contract this summer and, after three promotions, three relegations, spells in League One and the Premier League, Hoolahan will depart with the greatest of goodwill from Norwich supporters.
Those that are willing to forget his very public flirtation with Aston Villa back in 2014, that is.

But news that Hoolahan is set to be a free agent this summer have fans of another Championship club desperate to offer him a new home.
Creativity has been in short supply at Nottingham Forest since the famously pragmatic Aitor Karanka took over from the more free-flowing Mark Warburton in January, with the club failing to score in five successive games recently.
Hoolahan, however, would offer some craft and quality in the centre of the park.

Renowned for his balance, dribbling skills and the ability to open up a defence in style, the veteran Irishman may have set up just three goals this season but a tally of eleven assists in 2016/17, not to mention seven strikes of his own, shows Hoolahan has still got that touch of magic at this level.
But should Nottingham Forest really turn to a player who will be 36 by the time the transfer window opens?
