Scottish Premiership giants Rangers may lose Alfredo Morelos to England eventually, but they must ensure they get all the money they can.

Alfredo Morelos looked like he could be leaving Rangers on transfer deadline day.
Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe offered as much as £8 million for the star striker. And, according to Sky Sports, Morelos had his head turned somewhat by a huge contract in the Far East. He is, after all, far from one of the top earners at Ibrox.
But although the Chinese transfer window remains open until the end of February, the Colombian striker is now expected to remain at Rangers. The Daily Star reports that Beijing Renhe now have no interest in signing Morelos this month.
And it is understood that he is set to sign a new, improved contract at Ibrox, most likely with a substantial rise on his £7,000-a-week wages.

Morelos understands that staying in Scotland will give him the best possible chance of achieving his Premier League dream, so perhaps the best move for all parties would be for Rangers to include a buy-out clause in his new deal.
After all, it is pretty clear that the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer does not see his long-term future in Glasgow. He said in January, as reported by the Scottish Sun, that he is keen to move south of the border at the end of his debut season.
The Premier League has never been richer. And Rangers should take advantage of this by including a hefty buyout clause in Morelos’s contract, to ensure they can extract every pound possible out of the seemingly inevitable sale of their star striker.

Premier League clubs will happily pay over the odds if they feel they are desperate for a striker. And, if Rangers are going to lose Morelos, they might as well make this work to their advantage.
The biggest transfer fee Rangers ever received was £9 million from Tottenham for Alan Hutton in 2008. But Morelos should not go anywhere until that figure is bettered.
