Rangers want to bring both Louis Moult and Kenny McLean to Ibrox, but Queens Park Rangers may stand in their way.

Two of the most talented players in Scotland’s top flight are out of contract in the summer. And, if Rangers have their way, both could be plying their trade at Ibrox in the near future.
The Scottish Sun reported last month that Rangers were hoping to lure Louis Moult to Glasgow on a pre-contract agreement in the January transfer window, after failing to do a deal with Motherwell in the summer – and this was before Moult scored two clinical goals to fire Motherwell into the Scottish League Cup final at Rangers’ expense last weekend.
Herald Scotland has also reported that Rangers are hopeful of bringing former youth teamer Kenny McLean back to Ibrox in the New Year. Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes admitted last week that the 25-year-old midfielder is likely to leave Pittodrie – and the perennial runners-up could even cash in during the January window.

But will Rangers have competition from one club for both of their long-standing targets?
Which Rangers?
The Daily Record reported on Sunday that English Championship side Queens Park Rangers have a keen interest in Moult, who has scored 11 goals for Motherwell already this season.
QPR’s chief scout Gary Penrice was at Hampden Park to watch the former Stoke City striker net twice against Rangers in that thrilling cup tie earlier this month, and he also travelled to Fir Park for Motherwell’s clash with Hibernian on Saturday.
Considering that no one in QPR’s squad has more than four goals in 2017/18, the prolific Moult would be warmly received.

But will QPR aim to pull off a double Scottish deal that could leave Rangers frustrated? The Sun reported in the summer that the Londoners were hoping to bring McLean to England from Aberdeen, and they should renew their interest in January with the Scottish side open to offers.
Rangers, then, may have to act fast.
