Cameron Norman was released by Championship side Norwich City in 2016, but is now on the radar of a number of League One and Two clubs.

Cameron Norman may be playing in the seventh tier of English football but his remarkable statistics have not gone unnoticed.

The 22-year-old right-back has been simply sensational since moving to Kings Lynn Town in the summer. He has scored nine goals and produced 21 assists to fire the Linnet’s to the top of the Evo-Stick Southern Premier League.

No wonder clubs far higher up the footballing pyramid are keen.

HITC sources have told us that Portsmouth, Doncaster Rovers, Oxford United and Northampton Town have all been keeping a close eye on Norman in recent months. And it is understood that he is playing for Kings Lynn on a non-contract basis, meaning he can move clubs outside of the transfer window.

But with a direct impact on 30 goals from full-back this season, maybe former club Norwich City should be monitoring Norman’s development away from Carrow Road with interest.

Norman was released by the Canaries in 2016 but history is rife with footballers bouncing back after dropping down the divisions. And Norman, who won the FA Youth Cup with Norwich four years ago, was once highly-rated in East Anglia.

Maybe Norwich should take a punt on Norman and give him a second chance to prove his worth.

The step up from the Southern League to the Championship is a big jump but, clearly, Norman is far too good for the seventh tier.
