Diminutive play-maker Ross Wallace was fielded up front as Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-1 to Championship rivals Millwall at The Den.

Sheffield Wednesday were taking a risk when they appointed Jos Luhukay in early January. The Dutchman, after all, had no experience of English football, let alone the topsy-turvy world of the Championship.
And, so far, the risk has not looked like reaping many rewards. Lukukay has won just one of his seven games in charge of the Owls and, in all competitions, Wednesday have failed to hit the net four times since he took over at Hillsborough.
They did score at The Den on Tuesday night but that was not enough to prevent a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Millwall which leaves Wednesday stuck in mid-table and a little too close to the relegation zone for comfort.

And it is fair to say supporters were less than impressed with an ultra defensive line-up which saw Ross Wallace start in a false nine position in the capital.
Atdhe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao were forced to settle for a place on the bench as Wednesday flooded the midfield and aimed to strike on the counter. It never really looked like working, however, with Wallace isolated in attack and Wednesday lacking his precision and creativity in deeper positions.
The 32-year-old managed just one shot all night and, if he does not start at centre forward again, it will be too soon.
