Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher has not played for the Hillsborough club since December.

Sheffield Wednesday could do with a fit and firing Steven Fletcher right now as they look nervously over their shoulder at the relegation battle.
But, unfortunately for the Owls, Fletcher is not fit and will not be for some time. Manager Jos Lukukay admitted that Fletcher, who has not been seen since he injured his knee against Hull City in December, is unlikely to play for the club again this season, per the Yorkshire Post.
And, never mind fit, he had not exactly been firing much before then either. In 19 Championship fixtures in the first half of the season, Fletcher hit the back of the net on just two occasions.

So it’s fair to say Fletcher has had happier birthdays. Turning 31 today, Wednesday’s official twitter account has attempted to keep the striker’s spirits up as he continues his rehabilitation – though the former Sunderland and Wolves man would be better off giving the comment section a miss.
It seems that Wednesday supporters, who have endured their fair share of upheaval of late, have forgotten that Fletcher was even contracted to the Hillsborough giants.
Fletcher on his day is one of the most gifted players in the Sheffield Wednesday squad, but Owls fans simply have not seen enough of him over the last few months.
