Lewis Grabban scored his 16th Championship goal for Nottingham Forest on Saturday and is now set for a reunion with the Sheffield Wednesday boss.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce has hailed Lewis Grabban as he prepares for a reunion with the Nottingham Forest striker, while speaking to Sheffield Star.
Wednesday host Forest at Hillsborough in Tuesday’s Championship clash and Bruce will be desperate to get back to winning ways after he suffered a chastening 3-1 defeat at former employers Aston Villa on Saturday.
But the 58-year-old will have to find a way to stop Grabban, who scored his 16th Championship goal of the season with a well taken effort in Forest’s shock defeat away at Rotherham United at the weekend.
“We had him at Aston Villa last year and he did excellent for us,” Bruce told The Star. “He is a very, very good player.”
“(Forest) have got some good players all throughout their squad and in Martin (O’Neill) they have got a big, experienced manager so it will be a tough test.”
Grabban thrived during his short spell under Bruce in the second half of the 2018/19 campaign, firing home eight goals in 13 league starts for Aston Villa to pave the way for a £6 million move to the City Ground last summer.
As it stands, Wednesday and Forest are six and five points adrift of the play-offs respectively and both need a win to keep their promotion hopes alive.
