Premier League newcomers Sheffield United reportedly wanted to sign George Puscas after his outstanding U21 European Championship campaign.

Anyone who watched George Puscas lead the line for surprise packages Romania at the U21 European Championships this summer will tell you that the Eastern European nation have a special striking talent at their disposal.
The Palermo forward was outstanding throughout the tournament in Italy, scoring four goals in four games including a clinical brace against Germany in the semi-finals. His movement was electric, his work-rate exceptional and his finishing skills, well there’s a reason why Sheffield Wednesday legend Andy Hinchcliffe compared him to Alan Shearer during that last-four clash.
“(Puscas) reminds me a lot of Alan Shearer. He’s not blindingly quick across the ground but he’s strong and he’s a great finisher,” Hinchcliffe told Sky Sports (27 June, 5:00pm).
Just one day before Romania’s unfortunate 4-2 defeat to Germany, Sport claimed that Hinchcliffe’s former Steel City rivals Sheffield United had made an offer for a 23-year-old natural goal-poacher.

But with The Blades’ pursuit of Neal Maupay and Oli McBurnie dragging on, it seems that Puscas is set to slip through their grasp.
Because, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, he is set to join up with none other than Serie A giants Inter Milan during their pre-season tour of Asia. He is understood to be undergoing a medical with the Nerazzuri on Monday.
And what an opportunity this is for Puscas. With a proven winner like Antonio Conte at the San Siro, Inter are perhaps the only side capable of bringing Juventus’ reign of terror to an end.
